The Creta sold in South Africa as GS, then SU2, and the GS and SU2 share almost nothing visually or mechanically — check which one you have before ordering anything forward of the bulkhead. A chafed ABS wheel speed sensor loom is the most common cause we see — the wheel moves the wire, insulation wears through and the signal shorts. Intermittent because it only grounds when the loom flexes the right way. Inspect where the loom crosses the suspension arm.

Yes and it should always be the first approach. A good auto-electrician solders, heatshrinks and re-sleeves damaged sections for a fraction of full-harness cost. Full replacement is only justified after fire damage or flooding that corrodes the entire loom.

Water is shorting a wire to earth somewhere in a wet section of loom. Common spots: under the battery tray, the bulkhead connector behind the airbox and the boot loom rubber on hatchbacks. Trace the circuit the fuse protects, then inspect that loom for dampness.
