A full retrim through an SA auto-upholsterer typically runs R2,600-R6,200 depending on panel size and fabric choice. A used headliner through Pro Hyundai Spares costs less, but matching colour and condition is the challenge.

The proper fix is dropping the panel, stripping the old fabric and foam and bonding new material with high-temp trim adhesive. Pins and tacks are a short-term trick that leaves visible dots and rarely outlasts one summer.

The factory polyurethane foam between fabric and roof board breaks down after 10-15 years of heat and UV. SA summers, black cars and cars parked outside accelerate it. The foam turns to dust, so the fabric has nothing to hold onto.

Small sags near edges respond to careful re-gluing with 3M Super 77 or similar. Large central sags almost always need a full retrim, because the foam layer itself is gone and glue alone will not hold the weight.
