What are the symptoms of a failing rocker arm?
Persistent ticking from the top of the engine, rough idle, loss of power and sometimes a misfire code on a specific cylinder. Pull the rocker cover and you'll often see one rocker sitting at a different height or with a polished groove on its pad.
Can low oil pressure damage Hyundai rocker arms?
Yes and it's the most common root cause. Hydraulic adjusters need oil pressure to maintain valve clearance — without it they collapse and the rocker hammers the valve. Check level weekly and change oil every 10,000km with the correct Hyundai-spec grade.
