Almost always a failed microswitch inside the door latch, a very common Hyundai Getz, Accent and i20 fault. The fix is replacing the latch assembly — we rarely recommend chasing the wiring first unless the warning is intermittent and the door sounds open.

The plastic cable link between the exterior handle and the latch has failed. It's a known weakness across the Getz, i20, Accent range. We remove the interior panel, replace the linkage or latch and reset the lock before refitting.

The 'sensor' is actually the latch microswitch. We disconnect the battery, unbolt the latch from the door shut face, transfer the lock barrel to the new unit and reconnect. Budget an hour's labour at a workshop once the part is in hand.
