Rearview Mirror for Hyundai Tucson

What Are Hyundai Tucson Rearview Mirror?

The interior mirror mounts to a button bonded to the windscreen, and in a car that has been parked in a Highveld or Lowveld summer that bond is what usually fails rather than the mirror. Two things decide which replacement fits: whether yours is a plain manual-dip mirror or an auto-dimming one, and whether the car has a rain sensor or camera pod sharing the same mount — both are trim-level items on Hyundais rather than model ones, so an Elite or Executive car and a base car of the same year take different mirrors. If the button itself has come off the glass, that is a windscreen job, not a mirror job.

Signs You Need New Rearview Mirror

Mirror fallen off onto the dashboard
Loose mirror that pivots too freely
Auto-dim feature not working at night
Rain sensor warning on the dash
Cracked or silvered mirror glass
Windscreen mount button still stuck, mirror missing

What a parts desk needs to know about your Tucson

The Tucson reached South Africa as JM, LM, TL and NX4, and that alone changes what fits. The LM Tucson and the ix35 are the same vehicle sold under two names in different markets, so ix35 stock is a legitimate source for LM-generation parts and vice versa.

  1. 1

Find the generation code on your Tucson — it appears on the VIN plate and on the original registration paperwork.

  2. 2

Confirm the engine family. The Tucson ran Beta II 2.0 (JM), Theta II 2.0 (LM), Gamma 1.6 T-GDi (TL), Nu 2.0 and R-line 2.0 CRDi (TL) in this market.

  3. 3

Send both to us with the rearview mirror you are after , along with the trim level, the interior colour, and whether the car has leather or cloth. We match it before we quote, not after.

Sourcing note: the Tucsonruns in lockstep with the Kia Sportage — JM with KM, LM with SL, TL with QL, NX4 with NQ5 — which widens where we can look when local stock is thin.

In South Africa the Tucson is mostly the family SUV that does school runs during the week and gravel-road holiday mileage over December, a duty cycle that is hard on suspension and cooling components. That is the wear pattern we stock and source against.

Tucson Rearview Mirror: Common Questions

Will rearview mirror from another Tucson fit mine?

Not automatically. The Tucson sold in South Africa as JM, LM, TL and NX4, and the LM Tucson and the ix35 are the same vehicle sold under two names in different markets, so ix35 stock is a legitimate source for LM-generation parts and vice versa. Send us the generation code off your VIN plate and we will confirm it either way before anything is dispatched.

Can you source rearview mirror for the Tucson if local stock is dry?

Usually, yes. The Tucson runs in lockstep with the Kia Sportage — JM with KM, LM with SL, TL with QL, NX4 with NQ5, which gives us a second catalogue to search when Hyundai-listed stock runs out. We will tell you what we are quoting rather than leaving you to guess.

Which interior mirror does my Hyundai take?

That depends on trim rather than model. A plain manual-dip mirror, an auto-dimming one, and one sharing its mount with a rain sensor or camera pod are three different parts, and an Elite or Executive car will often differ from a base car of the same year. Tell us the trim level when you ask.

What does a used Hyundai interior mirror cost?

Used interior mirrors through SA strippers typically run R200-R1,200 depending on whether yours is basic, auto-dim or carries rain-sensor wiring. Pro Hyundai Spares and our supplier network carry stock across the range.

My mirror fell off the windscreen. Is that the mirror or the glass?

Almost always the bond, not the mirror — and after a summer parked outdoors it is the most predictable failure on the car. Clean the old adhesive off the windscreen button, let it dry, then bond with a mirror glue kit such as Loctite 319. Leave it 24 hours before you pivot it. If the button itself has come off the glass, that is a windscreen job.

How does the mirror clip back onto the mount?

Hyundai mirrors use a hex-bolt mount. Line the base up with the windscreen button, rotate 90 degrees until it clicks, then nip up the small grub screw. It is a two-minute job provided the button is still bonded to the glass.

Can just the mirror glass be replaced?

Not on the interior mirror — the glass is bonded and not serviced separately, so a complete used assembly works out cheaper than specialist re-silvering. Exterior wing-mirror glass is different: that is a clip-in part and does replace on its own.

Tell us which Tucson you have

The Tucson sold here as JM, LM, TL and NX4, and they do not share one parts list. Give us the generation code and we will do the rest.
